The one with some tuesday tunes

Sharing some of the songs I've been listening to lately (there's a new Sam Smith song!), and I think are worth sharing. Anything special you are listening to these days?

Radical Face - the Crooked Kind

Dorothy - Wicked ones

Disclosure & Sam Smith - Omen

Lucy Rose - Bad Blood

The one with the things I liked this week (127)

Finally got some houseplants, hope they will last a while....

Having lunch with L + Y, I often take a sandwich with goats cheese, and this one with beets, honey and walnuts is definitely in my top 5!

Seen on a walk

Lots of cute vintage cars this week, this van was one of my favourites!

This was the week of the Four Days Marches, it's a tradition to give participants red gladiolus when they cross the finish line.

Realised that this was my first icecream was my first one of summer.
I think I may have some catching up to do...

Not quite sure if I do actually like this, cause dolls always creep me out. But I do know that I like the cool minty bicycle this doll rides!

The one with the SwanMarket

Last sunday I attended my second market as a seller, at the SwanMarket in Tilburg (a city south of my hometown, which takes a 45 minute ride by train). Lucky for me, my mum went along, to keep me company, to wrap up sold items and between the two of us, we could take more things (and a nice bonus was having someone with me to hold the fort during a bathroom-break :-)

Arriving in the morning

Our set up

the elastic coard keeping cards in place works very well!

I hate having my picture taken, but here's proof that I was there :-)

And an impression of what the rest of the market looked like!

Awesome necklaces by Naked Design, I'm a fan!

Don't these look delicious!?

I got all sorts of excited when I spotted this one outside!

I had a great day, and I'd definitely sign up for a new market. The kit I made with supplies like pens, pushpins, tape etcetera, made things a lot easier. I kept the kit as it is and stored it in one of the trolleys we took. Last time, I put everything neatly back in its place when I got back, so I needed to make a new kit, next time it will be ready to go! Also, now I know I will be selling at a market again, there is some work to be done, presentation wise. I think I'll treat myself to a banner sometime soon, and I need some sort of display for my tote bags and notebooks. Clever ideas to stand out from the crowd are welcome ;-)
Selling from the comfort of your home, and communicating by computer is a whole different thing than selling from a stall. As an introvert, I never thought I would have liked interacting with buyers as much as I did. Do you like visiting and/or selling at markets?

The one with the things I liked this week (125)

Enjoying good food in good company, with R, L + J

Sunday walk

Same bridge, from a different point of view.

Taken from the same place (an old watchtower)

 This sunny sky

Receiving a box full of supplies, like these new, colourful totebags

Those bags have been printed now, and will be taken along to my second market tomorrow! I will be attending the SwanMarket in Tilburg on sunday (from 12.00 - 18.00, Spoorzone).
It's only my second market, so there's still a lot to learn when it comes to making a stall appealing for shoppers, and work easier for myself. Kerry told me to make a little kit, filled with things that might come in handy, like scissors, rope and pens. Last time I did take them, but tossed these items in between the things I wanted to sell. Tomorrow I will take a small bag, with all of those items together. I think this may be a big improvement, not having to go to everything, to get things found! The brilliant idea of making a sign with all the prices listed together, came from Paige. I've made one of those signs in addition to the individual pricetags.

The people from DaWanda asked me if I wanted to be their 'ambassador' at the market and send over this pretty looking box all the way from Berlin, filled with promotional things like a banner and their summer lookbooks. Everything is packed and I am ready to get some relaxing done for the rest of this evening! Hope you had a great start of the weekend, and wish you a sunny sunday!

The one with the painting of the stairs

Last sunday a big flight of stairs in our city got a make-over. There are plans for a renovation, but until then, they are looking happy and colourful. Painted in the colours of the rainbow, by lots of volunteers.

The pictures where there's still painting going on are taken by me, the last picture was taken from this website. A timelapse video can be found over here.

The one with the things I liked this week (124)

 Seen on an afternoon walk

Blue skies, those flags are up because the church is open again, after a big renovation.

Such a cliché, but it's amazing how fast the first six months of the year had flown by!

On my way to the mailbox

Reached my 100th sale over at DaWanda this week!

How is your weekend going so far? Got some work done yesterday and treated myself to a calligraphy-style pen (not the real deal), so I want to give that a go today. I used to dabble into calligraphy when I was a kid, and if I enjoy it as much as I did back then, I think I might pick up on this former hobby and treat myself to a real pen! Other than that, there's a big fabric market just around the corner today, I want to get some DIY-ing done, and I'll try my best not to get melted (we are having a heatwave over here). Hope you're having a fun weekend, see you next week!

The one with coffee at a factory

Back in may, I posted about a walk me + mum had to a former factory, back in april. After walking around and enjoying the building that once was a soup factory (and taking lots of pictures), we wanted to have a drink and a bite, so we visited First Things First. Just look at how wonderfully awesome this place is! This post is not sponsored, I just like to share and show some of the things going on, and places worth visiting in my hometown.

I opted for a cafe latte and (my first ever!) piece of red velvet cake. Mum choose a chocolate milk and apple crumble (made on the spot and served warm, yum!). A coffee roastery, named Blommers, is located in the same building. You can actually see the whole process of coffee roasting from your table!

We ran into critters of different sorts outside

Spotted some streetart on our way back home,

And a pretty door ;-)

First Things First is located at the Honigcomplex, Waalbandijk 14B in Nijmegen
